Golden Bricks hosted their first "Diversity in Construction" conference on the 18th of September. The day was based around promoting a career in construction for those who may not have considered if before whilst discussing the importance of a diverse workforce to create a successful industry. The day saw students and staff from South West Colleges experience the different career paths on offer and hear speakers discuss their journey into the Built Environment.
Golden Bricks would like to thank the guest speakers; Rich Barnes, Operating Director at Jem Scaffolding; Kate Moorcroft, Head of Treasury at Barratt and Shamir Sumaria, Trainee Solicitor at Barratt
As well as raising money for the Prince’s Trust, the day helped create awareness around the challenges we face in Construction and introduce students to new career opportunities. The day received plenty of positive feedback from the attendees and a few even expressed interest in getting some work-experience within the industry.
